Into The Silent World
*photos were taken when my first time joined the open sea freedive course and first-ever down in the deep blue sea*
Have you ever dared to dive into the deep blue sea without oxygen? Oh yes, I’m quite adventurous and challenged!
I’m not gonna go beating around the bush, I started freediving at first because I was bored flying in the sky as a flight attendant and thought it was cool when I am flying underwater like a mermaid.
But, Freediving is a totally different experience and I LOVE IT!!!
I used to think that if you know how to swim, you can swim anywhere. But here, you’ll learn how to relax, you’ll learn how to breathe properly, how to hold your breath, and the right form when doing certain tricks underwater.
When I learned how to properly freedive, something shifted in my brain. I had unlocked a new level: calm. But more than anything, it reminds you of your ability to push your limits.
From the moment you hold your breath and then dive into the sea, you just forget about the time. It’s like a moment out of time and when you finish, you feel so relaxed and so peaceful.
Our ears were not designed to pick up sound waves as they travel through water. So when we take a deep breath and dive down, a haunting and beautiful silence surrounds us.
You are freed from the noises and return to the roots of what it means to engage with the ocean. Learning to freedive is more than simply holding your breath and swimming, but that haunting silence of a one breathe dive cannot be beaten.
Well, freediving is a dangerous and sometimes deadly sport that requires serious training and discipline.
So, never freedive alone!
